“Large” Outdoor Quilt

I have been making outdoor quilts since 1994. My large outdoor quilts were made with traditional piecing methods. Now you can make these using your embroidery machine. Add color to your home, patio, garage, or any outside wall with outdoor quilts. My large outdoor quilts are made to be attached to a large wall.

Included with purchase is illustrated instructions in pdf format including how to make and assemble the blocks, how to make the borders, and how securely attach the quilts to the wall. These designs have a low stitch count sewing in only 8-12 minutes.Available in 4x4, 5x7, and 6x10 sizes. Also available in all 3 sizes at a reduced price.

Please note: If you made the 6x10 DWR LODQ like mine and mounted it like mine, you will need this design in the  4x4 size to recreate this quilt layout and still fit your existing mounting frame you use for the 6x10 DWR ODQ. That is because this layout requires 64 blocks as opposed to the 6x10 DWR LODQ that required only 36 blocks.

Please note: This design is digitized for outdoor fabrics and made the ‘outdoor quilt’ method. If you want this design to sew onto regular fabrics please visit the Diagonals - Applique page.

Layout

This quilt is made with 64 quilt blocks and a border added around the outside edge.

Made with the 6x10 designs and 5” border this quilt is 58”x 58”
Made with the 5x7 designs and 4” border this quilt is 48”x48”
Made with the 4x4 designs and a 6 1/2” border this quilt is 45”x45”
(This is the size I used for my quilt shown above.
This is because the result fits my existing mounting frame.)
